Welcome to Draycott and Hanbury Cricket Club. Founded in 1979, we play at a picturesque ground on Knightsfield Road in the village of Hanbury. We currently have 4 adult teams and a thriving youth section with 4 junior teams covering the age groups of Under 15's, Under 13's, Under 11's and Kwik Cricket. We welcome people of any age or ability to the club and with our wide range of teams we can offer cricket to anyone.
This season, for the first time in years, we have two teams entered into the Derbyshire County Cricket League. Our 1st XI gained promotion last season and will be playing in Division 7 South and the newly formed 2nd XI will play in Division 10 South/West. The 1st and 2nd XI's play the majority of their league fixtures on a Saturday with the occasional Sunday match due to fixture clashes.
Alongside our league teams, our Friendly XI play on a Sunday afternoon and for the more social cricketer our Beer team play on Friday evening.
We have a very busy junior programme. Kwik Cricketers play their matches on a Friday evening, the under 11's play on Monday evenings, under 13's play on a Sunday morning and under 15's on Thursday evenings. We also host the ECB All Stars initiative on a Saturday morning for children aged between 5 and 8 years old.
Our junior training sessions are led by ECB qualified coaches and held on a Tuesday evening from 6 - 7pm at our cricket ground. These sessions are for Kwik Cricketers, under 11's and under 13's. Players of all abilities, both boys and girls, are more than welcome to come along and join in.
Similarly, training for Under 15's and adults runs at our ground on a Wednesday evening from 6pm.
We are always looking for new talent across any age group so if you are interested in joining the club please contact the chairman Derek Hawes via email: firstname.lastname@example.org or phone: 01283 813019.
